How savings banks and cooperative banks remain profitable 

This book deals with the issues of digitalization, regulation and the low interest rate environment as well as their respective effects on the regional banking sector. The book summarizes the current developments and framework parameters. In addition, it provides recommendations for action on how regional banks can align themselves even better operationally and strategically with regard to current developments.

To present the current status quo also within the individual institutions, an online survey of all regional banks was carried out on the topics of digitalization, regulation and the low interest rate environment, in which about ten percent of all German regional banks took part.
