Private Banking Study Germany 2024
When the wind shifts again
What lies ahead for the private banking market in Germany?
In 2023, the assets held by German private clients and managed in private banking amounted to a considerable sum of around EUR 7 trillion. It is predicted that by 2028, this number could increase to around EUR 9.3 trillion. However, the financial landscape is facing significant changes, particularly due to political and economic developments that could affect banks’ net interest income.
The Private Banking Study 2024 emphasizes that the central banks’ recent interest rate turnarounds will negatively affect the net interest income, which had previously been growing. Providers in the private banking sector will thus need to look for alternative sources of income. The study shows that these changes come with both challenges and opportunities for the industry.
