SBTi validates zeb’s carbon reduction targets
With SBTi validation, zeb has established science-based climate targets and a clear reduction pathway.
Münster/Frankfurt, June 24, 2026 – zeb, the strategy, IT and management consultancy, has had its carbon reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The short- and long-term climate targets submitted by zeb have thus been externally verified, approved, and published on the SBTi website.
zeb committed to the SBTi in November 2025, aiming to set carbon reduction targets that are consistent with the Paris Agreement and based on recognized scientific guidelines for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With this validation, zeb now has externally verified climate targets for 2030 and 2050.
By 2030, zeb aims to reduce its direct emissions as well as emissions from purchased energy by 42 percent. A 25-percent reduction is envisaged for other emissions along the value chain. In addition, relevant suppliers are to be subject to tighter requirements. 34 percent of them are to set themselves climate targets that meet the SBTi’s requirements. From a long-term perspective, zeb is pursuing a net-zero goal by 2050.
For zeb, this validation is also relevant with regard to its consulting business as more and more companies are setting themselves climate goals and expecting service providers to adhere to transparent standards and provide reliable sustainability data. The validated goals will be implemented in stages. The focus is on areas where zeb sees key opportunities for reducing emissions.
