Prof. Dr. Stefan Kirmße

Prof. Dr. Stefan Kirmße is a Partner at zeb and one of the company’s founding shareholders.
 

He has been a member of the management board since 1996. From 2015 to 2020, as Managing Director, he was responsible for the operational management of the company as well as the facilitation of strategy development and decision-making within the circle of partners. His time as MD came to a close according to schedule at the end of 2020 after a total of six years and two terms.

Stefan has contributed greatly to zeb’s development over the past 25 years, shaping the company into one of the leading strategy and management consultancies for the European financial services industry.

After his banking apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank in Bremen and working in private banking, Stefan completed a degree in Business Administration at the University of Münster.

In 1996, he gained his PhD at Gerhard Mercator University in Duisburg with a thesis on the pricing and managing of default risks in corporate banking and in 2002 he qualified as a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen by submitting his habilitation treatise on mobilizing credit business as an instrument of decisions on bank policy.

From 2002 to 2005 he was a private lecturer at the University of Duisburg-Essen, from 2005 to 2009 honorary professor at the Graduate School of Business and Economics (WHL) in Lahr, and since 2009 he has been a professor of Business Administration especially bank management at Steinbeis University Berlin.
