Mr. Arndt G. Kirchhoff, Vice President of the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Arbeitgeberverbände, BDA) and Vice President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (Verband der Automobilindustrie, VDA) as well as President of the North Rhine-Westphalia Federation of Business Associations (Landesvereinigung der Unternehmensverbände NRW), analyzed Germany as a business location and outlined required actions for politics and business in front of members of the Finance Committee of the German Bundestag, representatives of banking associations and scientific institutions.
Dr. Markus Demary, Senior Economist at the German Economic Institute (IW), and Prof. Dr. Stefan Kirmße, Founding Partner at zeb, acted as co-commentators and in turn shed light on the current situation from a macroeconomic and financial perspective. The lively discussion focused on three questions:
How can a sustainable recovery succeed?
Which reforms should be tackled urgently?
What levers does financial policy have alongside economic policy?
The long-standing cooperation with the German Economic Institute (IW) was continued with this event – it generates a socio-political reputation while at the same time increasing public awareness.
