End-to-end carbon accounting and transition planning for a Swiss regional bank

zeb defines concrete measures for the implementation of reduction paths
Carbon Accounting (Schweizer Regionalbank)

For a Swiss regional bank, zeb determined the CO2 emissions financed by the bank and defined a reduction path with the goal of zero emissions by 2050 – for private and commercial mortgages as well as loans to corporate customers.

“It was important to us to develop a structured approach that makes it as easy as possible for the bank to adhere to the target path. To this end, we have translated the emissions reduction plan into campaigns with concrete measures,” explains Simon Grimm, Senior Advisor at zeb.

In real estate financing, for example, we not only specified emission targets for new business, but also gave sales staff clear guidelines for energy upgrades of buildings. Abstract CO2 targets were converted into concrete figures for renovation loans, and customers suitable to be addressed were identified.

End-to-end target path planning brings forth clear goals and a coordinated approach to achieving net zero. We would be happy to support your institution in this endeavor as well – let’s get in touch.
