Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination – a reminder that addressing racism begins with
#SelfAwareness. Discrimination often stems from
#UnconsciousBias: deeply rooted assumptions that shape our perceptions and actions without us noticing.
This year’s theme, “𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐦”, highlights the importance of recognizing these patterns and taking responsibility. As part of our internal anti‑racism initiative, Marion Pfaller emphasizes that progress requires active participation – listening, reflecting and speaking up.
Racism does not only occur in extreme situations. It can also show up in everyday interactions in the form of subtle remarks or assumptions that exclude or hurt others unintentionally.
At zeb, colleagues can take part in unconscious bias training sessions four times a year. These sessions promote reflection, help identify hidden patterns and strengthen our ability to contribute to a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Let’s use today to stay aware, challenge our biases and take responsibility – both individually and together. 🚀
